i apologize to you, my faithful readers, for neglecting this website. things have been busy. i have the new job. harry has school and he is on this computer a lot. but, guess what. downstairs in the darkened office of our apartment building is sitting a pretty little package from mr. macintosh. he has sent us a shiny new computer. hooray! tomorrow it will be released to us forever. so, maybe i will spend more time keepin gyou updated on our happenings.
you will be thrilled to hear that our car got broken into. IN OUR GARAGE! argh. so much for security. nothing stolen, nothing to steal. broke a window. pain in the ass.

ok. here are some pictures
this was taken at ocean point. it was a perfect day to go the coast of maine!
and this was taken at boothbay harbor, just a few miles away. we happened to arrive during the "windjammer days" or something like that. so, there were some pretty awesome boats, or sailboats, or schooners or whatever they are called. it was pretty awesome.
and here is a picture of the family house in guilford, me. all of the wildflowers were in bloom and there were ripe wild strawberries everywhere. we ate them! they were really good. it was awesome.
anyway, there are many more pictures besides these and some pictures from new jersey, but i dont have them ready yet. when i do, i will link to the albums from this site.
and the most exciting news: devin is visiting from germany AND i have monday off from work (but since i just started i think i will be excited to go back after the weekend)!

hi everybody. we are back from our little vacation to new jersey and maine. it was good. we had very nice weather in both places, but a little rain towards to end of our visit to maine. we took buses to nj and maine and flew back from maine to dc. so, there was quite a bit of traveling and moving around, but it was good and cheap. we visited mostly with family and a little bit with friends. there is never enough time to see everybody! anyway, i will post some pictures from the trip later.
so, now we are back and it was really good to sleep in our own bed. and the kitties missed us so much! also, i started my new job yesterday. so far it is excellent. everybody is really nice and it is a very pleasant workspace. i had an orientation most of the day yesterday and for lunch i went out with all of the admin. assts. it was really great. i am more than happy with my choice.
as for harry, yesterday was his 27th birthday. he had the day off from work and school (as he does for the rest of this week at least). he took care of some stuff with home depot and hung out with tosh and went skateboarding. i wanted to make the day more special than any other day, but it was hard because we had just come back from our little vacation and i was all flustered trying to get ready for my first day of work. but, i do have one more thing i want to get him, so it will be a little after-birthday gift.
well, i am sure that there is a lot more to tell, but i am tired and i need to start getting ready for work soon. so, ciao!

hello! its sunday. its been a nice long weekend. friday we hung out with harry's buddy, tash. then yesterday we hung out with matt and nicole. went to eastern market and chinatown. i spent a little money on a few things for the apartment. we all had dinner at a little chinese restaurant. i had freshly handmade noodles and we also had fresh handmade dumplings. yum. then we watched a movie. yay.
so, today harry is at work and i am cleaning the apartment. its been slightly frustrating because i wanted to do two loads of laundry and i only have enough on our laundry card for one load to wash and dry. its not that i dont have the money for it, its just that our stupid laundry card is not being read by the machine that puts money on it! it works in the actual washer and dryer, but not in the money machine. anyway, it just sucks because i didnt realize at first that there was enough on the card already for one more load, so i got all pissed off and vacuumed. but all is ok now because i shoved all of the clothing into one load. i think it will be ok.
anyway, i just needed to vent about the laundry. um. yeah. i feel better now.
so, tomorrow is my second to last day at ASM. pretty cool. and im definitely ready for a vacation. definitely.
well, thats all for now. oh. and harry got his hair cut. it looks good.

well, im back! again. let me first say that i have been a lazy do-nothing kinda gal lately, but you know what? who cares. one of the major reasons i havent been writing lately is because my mind has been preoccupied with finding a new job. and... because i was looking for a new job i had an interview at the world wildlife fund (wwf). now, that was about 3 weeks ago or so, and being me i did a great job at the interview. but i had to wait quite some time for an answer. thus began my long and torturous days with upset stomachs, butterflies in the stomach, tension headaches, and lack of sleep. i wanted this job so very badly that i made myself ill. well, last night i found out that i got the job! hooray! all of my wishing and praying (and hard work) paid off. so, even though i found out last night that i got the job, i did not sleep. first, i was so excited! this job is perfect. i will be the senior administrative assistant to the vp for development (fundraising). not only will i be pursuing my career goals in fundraising, but i will be helping to save this wonderful world of ours! if you dont know who the wwf is (not the wrestlers!) please check out the website: www.wwf.org. and the second reason that i could not sleep was because i was so nervous about resigning from my current position at ASM. my dad said that this is because i am a good person. maybe he is right. i was nervous because i am making my last day tuesday, which falls drastically short of the standard two-week notice that is generally expected. now, believe me: i would have given them the two week notice, but i am leaving tuesday night for a little vacation to new jersey and maine, it would have been crazy to make wwf wait longer than that and i certainly would like to get started with the new job. so i felt really bad about that. plus, ASM was a great place to work. so i made sure that they knew that i would wrap everything up before i left and not leave them in the dust. turns out everything is fine with them. thank god!
well, i think i am getting carpal tunnel syndrome. so i will type more later. ciao!

well, im back. i was in new orleans for business. you'd think it would be fun, but really it was just a lot of work. however, i did manage to have oysters every day that i was there. i did get to go to some great restaurants, but we didnt go out or anything, mostly because we had to be at the convention center from 7-5 everyday. oy vey. it was a loooong week. but my hotel bed was perfect - a feather bed. the only thing that really sucked about that part was that harry was in our bed at home!
anyway, i didnt take any pictures because it wasnt vacation.
so, im just exhausted and i really cant concentrate enough to write anything else, but i promise to get back on track very soon. just give me some time.

well, i am not going to write much becuase i am too tired. it was a long and very fun weekend with jay, ray, mary ann, and tristan. the zoo, a fun party with drag queens, and much silliness. a weekend to remember. will post more later this week. sorry for the lack of energy in this post. its just that i can hardly think. ciao!
